For a moment I actually think wow that is a very old cricketer! Then I realise it's the pain killers that are affecting my better judgment.

"No one has ever lived to one hundred and eighty seven, you fool."

"Pardon?" Seth, in the hospital bed next to mine, looks up.

"Nothing." I turn the computer screen towards him. It's a fully functional TV and phone device that's suspended on an overhanging arm. I can swivel it to any angle. "What is that guy supposed to be doing?" I point at the Google image where one top hat wearing dude is holding his hands in a very compromising looking gesture. "And what's he doing with those sticks? You know what? Never mind. I forgot... I'm not speaking to you or to that twerp over there either." I nudge my head in Blake's general direction, which just so happens to be on the hospital bed next to Seth's.

That's right. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumbass here both landed themselves in hospital after cracking skulls together in the waiting area. We're on a Ward of six beds. Three on one side of the room, occupied by colleagues of Teltek, and three empty beds across the way.

I haven't even had my ankle X-Rayed. All the hospital attendants were forced to sort out Blake's and Seth's complaints, while trying to assist patients who were already waiting.

Needless to say, these two (now literally, after being medicated) numb-skulls I work with have caused quite a fracas.

Seth has a forlorn countenance. Blake, on the other hand, is loopy. "This stuff is great!" He takes a long pull on the gas and air supply tube that's attached to the wall.

"That's supposed to be for women in labour!" I chide him, sitting up further and hurting my ankle. "Actually, I think I'll have some of that."

"You two are going to get me into trouble." Says Seth, even though he's just pulled down the hose from behind his own bed. "How do I do this then?"

Blake sucks in a long, deep breath. "You have to pull it into your lungs, like this." He blows outwards and then sticks the mask end of the tube over his face. He goes to town on the gas and air. He breaths in so deeply that when his hand lowers the tube he falls back onto his pillow with a look of awe on his face.

I glance at Seth. He returns my gaze and then we both plaster the gas masks over our mouths and noses.

Slurp. I practically drink in the odourless gas. The deeper I breathe the heavier my eyelids feel.

Suddenly, I a wave of dizzy bliss washes over my brain. My body tingles and I lay back onto my raised pillow.

"Wow." I mumble like a stoner. My tongue feels thick and I don't know if I'm uttering proper words. I don't care if I am either. "This stuff really iiiiiiiiiiiissssss amazing!"

"Ssssssomeone's cooooooooming," Seth drones after taking a gas hit. "We're gonna get busted."

Quickly, I drop my gas tube.
